ABOUT THE ROLE

The Market Sector Leader is responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of responsibilities within the Education, Municipal, and/or Healthcare sector of the Citadel business plan. The specific areas of responsibility include opportunity generation, proposal creation, sales, relationship management, employee engagement for project staff, and delivering targeted financial results for their sector of the business. Client advocacy exists at all levels of the organization, and the Market Sector Leader is accountable for understanding the Client’s business objectives and ensuring Citadel’s performance meets or exceeds the Client’s needs. The Market Sector Leader is a member of the Citadel Leadership Team and plays a critical role in delivering value-added service that drives the culture and business objectives of the firm.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking an experienced, skilled Market Sector Leader with a demonstrated history of success in business development, relationship management, proposal operations, contract negotiations, recruiting and hiring, employee engagement, and operational oversight of construction management responsibilities including responsibility for delivering on targeted business results. The Market Sector Leader will report directly to the CEO/President, be a member of the Citadel leadership team, and be responsible as leader for a meaningful portion of the overall Citadel business operations.

As a Market Sector Leader you will:

  • Be a vital member of the company’s leadership team and will provide direct support and guidance to many levels of management and administration throughout the company.

  • Reporting directly to the President/CEO and will be strategically positioned to guide the company with its expansion goals and the procurement and execution of new contracts in alignment with the business plan.
  • Lead the Sales & Business Development efforts for the Education, Healthcare, and/or Municipal Market Sector to support revenue growth in support of the Citadel Business Plan.
  • Partner with the Proposal Operations team to deliver winning proposals to expand our client base and increase revenue.
  • Lead the operational execution in a manner consistent with Citadel standards and best practices to Deliver Business Results consistent with written performance targets.
  • Partner with the Human Resources and Talent Acquisition team to support the Recruitment & Hiring processes necessary for organizational growth.
  • Actively invest in Employee Engagement for your Citadel teams to keep the company positioned as subject matter experts in our market sectors, to foster a corporate culture of continuous learning, and to challenge our employees invest in their own professional growth and development.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
  • A master’s degree from an accredited College or University in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study is preferred.
  • Valid and current driver’s license and current automobile insurance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 15 years professional experience, including five years as the lead manager on projects of at least $50M in the AEC industry with a preference for the construction management field.
  • Prior experience as a market sector leader responsible for both new sales and operational execution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Projection Management Professional (PMP), Certified Design-Build Professional (DBIA), or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
  • The ability to develop new clients and work with our existing client base to generate and convert opportunities to sales is required.

In the event that a candidate for this position can demonstrate exceptional professional experience, training and/or superior achievement in the specific duties outlined herein (and these accomplishments approximate the training and/or experience that would ordinarily be derived from formal education culminating in a degree), the candidate may still be considered for this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position is generally expected to be in person working from the Pasadena office. The physical demands associated with this position are consistent with working indoors in an office setting with an automated air system. The position is primarily sedentary with movement throughout the workday to include a wide-range of physical movement such as standing, prolonged sitting, reaching, lifting up to 20 pounds, carrying up to 20 pounds, working in files, long periods of typing on a keyboard, manually reviewing documents, extensive reading and writing, talking on the telephone and when meeting with other individuals, attending video-based meetings such as Teams and/or Zoom, and other physical activities related to working in a typical office setting. IT is also expected that the position will include regular local travel and driving for client meetings and project site visits.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, licenses, skill set, experience and/or performance.

Pay range for this position is $225,000/year - $275,000/year base salary plus performance based bonus.
